The Montagu Pass

As we’re on a private charter with a customised itinerary, we had the opportunity to take both the golfers and the non-golfers on the stunning Montagu Pass. The two-and-a-half-hour lunch run through the Outeniqua Mountains is one of the most picturesque legs on Rovos Rail  and also enjoyed on the African Golf Collage. There is not really too much to tell here other than posting a few nice images as they speak for themselves.

We just played golf at Pezula and are heading towards Oudtshoorn – a town full of Western Cape culture and home of the annual KKNK music festival. The road travels a different route on the other side of the mountain, so it’s quite special to be on the railway line, but both routes are spectacular.

We are on our way to Humewood Golf Club for the golfers and Addo Elephant Park in Port Elizabeth for the non-golfers. It’s a links course and the wind ALWAYS blows there. It’s going to be a test for our golfers much like it was for the pros around the world in numerous South African opens.
